Canyon Springs Cross Country had a successful day as the first annual San Diego River Park Invitational!

The Cougars have a total of 33 runners race, many for the first time and set over many new PR’s on the season.

The Boys were led by Chrystian Barrales-Garcia, who set a notable new PR, running 3 miles under 16:00 and securing a new personal best of 15:55. Chrystian is the first runner from Canyon Springs in 7 years to run under 16 minutes for three miles. This is followed closely behind by David Hernandez, who ran a time of 16:05. The Boys Varsity overall placed 7th as a team out of 20 schools.

The Girls were led by Jazmin Cervantes (20:55) and Jayde Esparza who ran a personal best of 22:07, and helped show strong performances in the Varsity Girls race.

Overall, the Cougars had a very productive day in San Diego. Cross Country is taking a three week break before being back in action in Indio! Lots of work left to do in the meantime! ...

Canyon Springs Cross Country Boys finish in 1st Place in League Meet #1 in a show of complete domination against the Inland Valley. The Cross Country Boys are looking to win their first League Championship since 2013.

The Top 5 finishes were ran by Chrystian Barrales- Garcia (16:43) David Hernandez (16:54)Angel Saldana (17:36), Ethan Lundberg (17:47) and Raul Garza (18:49)

Canyon Springs Cross Country has one of its best days in recent memory as we returned to Dana Point at the 2025 Dana Hills Invitational! All in all, Canyon Springs finished the day with over 20 personal best runs!

Top Performances on the Boys side today included Senior Angel Saldana who ran a time of 16:28 and Sophomore Ethan Lundberg with a time of 16:55. Other notable performances were ran by Juniors Nathan Ruiz (17:27) and Raul Garza (17:38).

On the Girls side, Senior Jazmin Cervantes ran a massive PR today, finishing with a time of 20:12. Junior Joselyn Lopez also ran a great race and finished with a time of 21:34.

Cross Country is back to action Wednesday for League Meet #1 in Hemet as the Boys and Girls look to compete for League Championships. ...

Canyon Springs had a great day at the 2025 Colton Swarm Invitational, finishing with a total of eleven Top 25 Finishes, including seven Top 10 finishes!

Notable performances included Chrystian Barrales -Garcia winning the Senior Boys race, running a time of 16:16 and Jazmin Cervantes who ran a PR of 21:11.

Other noteworthy performances included Sophomore Ethan Lundberg, who ran a PR of 17:21, Junior Raul Garza who ran a PR of 17:29, and Jayde Esparza who also ran a PR of 22:19.

Awesome day all around for the Cougars! Our next stop is the Dana Hills Invitational! ...

Chrystian Barrales -Garcia WINS the 2025 Senior Race at the Colton Swarm and finishes in First Place 🥇

Chrystian a nearly perfect race by staying back in the beginning of the race and slowly but surely working his way before eventually taking the lead and never looking back.

Canyon Springs Cross Country has a very strong start to the season at the 2025 Vaquero Stampede!

Canyon Springs fetched 12 Medals overall, including five Top 10 Finishes. Senior Chrystian Barrera -Garcia ran himself to a 3rd place finish in the Junior/ Senior race, followed closely by being by fellow Senior David Hernandez in 6th place. Sophomore Ethan Lundberg also raced to a 6th place finish in the Freshman/Sophomore race.

On the Girls side, Seniors Jazmin Cervantes and Jayde Esparza ran themselves to a 4th and 7th place finish each.

As a team, the Junior/Senior Boys finished in Second Place as a team followed by a third place finish as a team by the Girls. ...

There will still be QR codes at the gate into any games that will activate your phones web browser to purchase tickets at the gate if you would like.
